It was brought to the Association’s attention that the Social Security Administration is changing the process of filing SSA-721 Statement of Death by Funeral Director from your funeral homes. A sample letter of the important change that will occur across the state is attached. The Danville Social Security office is now implementing the change and we would like to know if the Social Security office in your area is also implementing this change. Please see a sample letter from the Danville office.
The Social Security Administration will be presenting at the Virginia Funeral Directors Association Annual Meeting in Williamsburg during the 129th Annual Convention on Tuesday, June 27th at 8:30 a.m.

HB2276 Death certificate; amendments other than correction of information.
HB1846 Death certificates; filing.
Item 291 #c that requires state funded teaching hospitals to become fully compliant with EDRS by April 15, 2018.
