VA Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers

Did you know that you can renew your license online?

Funeral service has the lowest percentage of online license renewal of all of the health professions. Therefore, the cost of manually processing the renewals is causing the licensing fees to rise. If you have not already done so, please consider renewing online.

You must attest that you have completed your continuing education requirements when you complete your renewal. Please be careful not to overlook this important step. Starting next year, if you do not complete this process, your license will not be renewed regardless of whether or not you paid your fee.

The state board no longer publishes a paper copy of their newsletter. Information about online licensing and other helpful information is posted on their website. You may get to the site by going to our site, www.vfda.net, clicking on the “useful links” tab to the left of the homepage, and scrolling down to the link. It's a good idea to check it out from time to time.
