It is with sincere regret that we inform you of the death of Company Founder and Past President John Arthur Hinckley passed away on December 18, 2006. A native of Fauquier County, he was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Valiant Hinckley. He is survived by his children Stewart A. Hinckley, Heather A. Spiess, Holly V. Archard and Douglas V. Hinckley all of Richmond and John A. Hinckley, Jr. of Hartland, VT and eight grandchildren, D. Austin Hamilton, Anna V. Jones, Story, Isabelle, Elizabeth, Catherine, John and Eleanor Hinckley. He was a direct descendant of Presidents James Monroe, Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin D. Roosevelt. A graduate of St. Paul's School (NH) and the University of Virginia, he completed studies at the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Commissioned in the U.S. Army, he served in Wurzburg, Germany and Fort Riley, Kansas with the First Infantry Division. He was a member of the Deep Run Hunt Club, serving on its Board, the Commonwealth Club and served as Chair of the Deep Run Hunt Races for seven years. He was also Senior Warden at Christ Church Episcopal. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Episcopal on Wednesday, December 27 at 1:00pm. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be sent to Christ Church Episcopal, 5000 Pouncey Tract Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059.
Monday, December 11, 2006 It is with sincere regret that we inform you of the death of Mildred Marie Johnson Collins of Riverside Highway, Bassett, Virginia, who died Monday, December 11, 2006, at Stanleytown Health Care Center in Bassett,
She was born in Franklin County, VA, and preceded in death by her husband, William Avery “Bill” Collins, Sr. who died on October 3, 1991. Mrs. Collins and her husband established Collins Funeral Home in 1944. She was a member of Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a charter member of the Pocahontas Garden Club Auxiliary. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #11 of Bassett. She was a life member of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Martinsville Chapter.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William Avery “Bill” Collins, Jr. and his wife Susan of Dataw Island, South Carolina, and Samuel Thomas “Sam” Collins and his wife Janeise of Hampstead, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Shanna Cockram of Collinsville, VA, and two great-grandchildren, Carlee Cockram of Collinsville, VA and Avery Collins of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 11am at the Bassett Memorial United Methodists Church. Entombment will follow at the Collins Family Mausoleum at Mount Hermon Church, Bassett, Virginia.

It is with sincere regret that we must advise you of the death of Harry Earl Puckett age 82 of Stuart, and formerly of Martinsville, who died Friday, November 10, 2006.
Mr. Puckett was born in Patrick County, son of the late Henry R. and Kate Bruge Puckett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie H. Puckett; two brothers, Terry and Elbert Puckett. He graduated from Stuart High School, served in the US Army during World War II, and was retired from DuPont of Martinsville. His son, Richard Puckett is a licensed funeral director at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, NC.
Mr. Puckett is survived by two sons and daughter in-laws, Steven E. and Deborah Puckett of Stuart, and Richard W. and Donna B. Puckett of Mount Airy, NC; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Morris Puckett of Meadows of Dan; and three sisters, Mildred Shelton of Martinsville, Margaret Sowers and Juanita Mitchell both of Stuart.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30PM on Monday, November 13, 2006 at Stone Memorial Christian Church in Collinsville, and from 6:00-8:00PM on Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, Virginia.

November 2, 2006 It is with sincere regret that we must advise you of the death of Frank Benton Williams
age 84 of Ringgold, who died Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Danville Regional Medical Center Emergency Department. Mr. Williams was the father of Jimmie Williams, past board member of VFDA and co-owner of Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, and grandfather of Justin Williams, funeral service licensee of Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams, born in the Mountain Hill community, was the son of the late James Bouisseau Williams and the late Lillie Poindexter Williams. He had retired from Dan River Inc. where he worked as an electrician with 16 years of service. After his retirement, he was co-owner of the former Williams Grocery in the Mountain Hill community until 1990. He was well known for his Lawn Mower and Small Engine Repair Shop and his love for working in his garden. Mr. Williams attended Glen Hill Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by four sisters, Willie W. Royster, Jessie W. Chamberlain, Daran W. Wiles and Empress W. Wade; and two brothers, Hunter Williams and Nelson Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Ercelle Boyles Williams; his two sons, Jimmie and wife Judy Williams, and Barrie Williams all of Ringgold; one daughter, Sherrie W. Page and husband Michael of Orange; four grandchildren, J.B. Williams and wife Katie, Justin Williams and fiancée’ Chantal Dalton, Kinsey R. Page and Ethan M. Page; two sisters, Eunice W. Robertson and Francis W. Dalton and husband Ray, both of Ringgold; three nieces; one nephew; and two great granddaughters.

She is survived by her husband, H. Branford Lucado; two sons, H. Michael Lucado, Sr. (a funeral service licensee with Finch and Finch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Altavista) and his wife Susie of Altavista and James A. (Dink) Lucado and his wife Darlene of Lynchburg; one sister, Retta Davidson Noel of Danville; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, L. Crawford Davidson and two sisters, Emma D. Weist and Lillian D. Parker.

Born in Giles County, Mrs. Myers was the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Hattie Rowe Habernigg. She was retired from Celanese Fibers Corporation in Narrows, Virginia.
Mrs. Myers is survived by her daughters, Brenda M. Meadows and husband Ronald of Narrows and Ella Mae Vaught and husband Paul of Newport; her son, Ernest L. Myers and wife Bonnie of Vienna; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Her son, Ernest L. Myers is a funeral service licensee at Pierce-Price Funeral Home in Manassas and a former member of the State Board.

It is with sincere regret that we must advise you of the death of Lewis I. Nicholson, Jr. age 42 of Newport News, who died Saturday, September 30, 2006.
Mr. Nicholson was the founder and co-owner of Nicholson-Cummings Funeral Home. Born February 11, 1964, he was the first born son to Lewis, Sr. and Nancy Lee Fox Nicholson in Manhattan. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from John Tyler College with a degree in Mortuary Science and obtained his license as a funeral director. He was a member and 2nd Vice President of the Tidewater Funeral Directors Association and the secretary for the Central District Funeral Directors Association. He was also a member of the Virginia Mortician's Association where he was one of the directors for the Gospel Ensemble who performed at the Association Convention in June 2006.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Nicholson and father, Lewis I. Nicholson, Sr.; his sister, Tamara Nicholson Ferebee and her husband, Ryan, Sr. of Chester; his nephews, Ryan, Jr. and Noah; one who was like his brother, Reginald "Reggie" Fox (Antonia) of Yorktown; special aunts and uncles, Rita and Walter Banks, Carrie and Otis Blair, Bill and Dorothy Evans, Henry Fox, all of Newport News, Charles and Daisy Fox of Queens, N.Y., Robert and Marion Fox of Hampton, Bermadine Fox of Hampton, and Joseph Nicholson of Newport News; his very dear great-aunts and uncles, Doretha Nicholson, Obediah and Gladys Nicholson, all of Newport News; three wonderful and close cousins, Antonio Martin (Jenny), Julie Banks Holifield (Eric), Kristie Banks McCray; and Russell Swann, who he called "big brother"; one who was like his son, Kenny Hargroves, and numerous other cousins, extended family and friends. Mr. Howell, born in Patrick County, was the son of the late Harry P. Howell, Sr. and Grace Rorrer Howell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Melissa Jo Howell; four brothers, Herman “Wimpy” Howell, H.P. Howell, Jr., Garland Howell and Wade Howell; and five sisters, Mildred Howell, Maxine Ferguson, Madeline Smith, Mary Howell and Marie Howell.
Mr. Howell worked for Mays Funeral Home for seven years, and later retired from Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with over 44 years of service. He was a member of Stuart Volunteer Fire Department and Stuart Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Rogers Howell; one son, James Blair, Jr. and wife Cindy Howell of King, NC; one daughter in-law Joanna H. and Kevin Hutchins of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Joshua Bret Pegram, Jordan Christopher Pegram, Elisabeth Grace Hutchins, Rachel Danielle Hutchins, Elijah Parker Hutchins and Hope Abigail Hutchins; four brothers, Clanton Howell of Stuart, Gordon Howell of Vesta, Ralph Howell of Mount Airy, NC and Leon Howell of Stuart; and two sisters, Mabel Fulcher of Roanoke and Margaret Hopkins of Stuart.

W. Clyde Johnson age 86 of Orange who died on Friday, September 8, 2006 in Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Johnson owned and operated Johnson Funeral Home in Locust Grove. He was a past president of the Virginia Funeral Director's Association. The funeral home was established in 1920 by his parents, the late J. Wister and Helen Spotswood Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Blackwell Johnson; and a sister, Linda Elizabeth Johnson.
He is survived by his daughters; Cynthia Jill Johnson and James P. Mattix of Vienna and Jacquelyn Marie Johnson of Arlington; his wife, Judy Paytes Johnson; a son, Ernie Jarvis Johnson and wife Tracy; two grandchildren, William Grayson and Margaret Olivia Johnson; and his mother in-law, Margaret C. Paytes of Fredericksburg.

It is with sincere regret that we must advise you of the death of Homer Dodge Thacker age 103 of Scottsville, died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Hospice House in Charlottesville.
Mr. Thacker and his brother Raymon Thacker were co-owners of Thacker Brothers Funeral Home for 66 years and at his death, Homer was still a licensed funeral director. He was a founder and long-time member of the Scottsville Rescue Squad and the Scottsville Community Band. He was the oldest member of the Scottsville United Methodist Church.
He was born March 36, 1903 to the late Arthur Lewis Thacker and Eddie Belle Cary Thacker. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Thacker Kershaw and a nephew, Arthur R. Thacker, Jr.
Mr. Thacker is survived by his wife, Beatrice Davis Thacker; a daughter, Linda Ann Marshall and her husband Jimmy; a brother, A. Raymon Thacker and his wife Arbutus, all of Scottsville; two grandsons, James T. “Sonny” Marshall and wife Jennifer of Charlottesville and Kevin Glen Marshall and his companion Ginger Yancey of Scottsville; two great-grandchildren, Keiara Louise Marshall and Brandon T. Yancey, both of Scottsville; three nephews, Cary “Sonny” Thacker, Wallace “Buddy” Hudson and Matthew Thacker; one niece, Virginia Lee Bishop; and numerous other family members and friends.

Mr. Miller was a licensed funeral director working most of his career in Richmond. Al started Al Miller Pest Control. He was affectionately known as "The Bug Man".
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Nancy Miller; three sisters, Margaret Weston, Nancy Bryd and Etta Blonsick, all of Florida; a brother, Willie Miller of Mechanicsville and he will be fondly remembered by 19 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and James Miller and two sisters, Ivah Teasdale and Janet Little.

Mr. Arrington retired as Vice President and Secretary with 50 years of service from Oakey’s Funeral Service. He was a member of Lynnhaven United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach and a former member of Grandin Court Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WWII, a member of the Virginia Heights Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite Bodies, a member of the UCT and a former member of the Roanoke Civitan Club.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth A. Robins. Mr. Arrington is survived by his wife, Frances C. Arrington; a daughter and son in-law, Kathryn A. and David E. Zurek of Virginia Beach; granddaughters and grandson in-laws, Amy Z. and William T. Carter, and Beth Robins; grandson, Stephen E. Zurek.

It is with sincere regret that we inform you of the death of David D. Obenshain.
David D. "Red" Obenshain 88, of Troutville, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2006. Born May 9, 1918, in Botetourt County, he was a son of the late Kyle and Lillian Obenshain. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Mae Rader Obenshain, on January 17, 2006.
He was a member of Troutville Church of the Brethren for over sixty-five years. A retired yard conductor for the N&W Railway, he later worked at Oakey's North Chapel for over twenty-five years.
Mr. Obenshain was a member of Botetourt Camp of the Gideons International and a charter member of the Troutville Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis L. Obenshain, Sr. and Rita Obenshain; grandson, Dennis L. Obenshain, Jr. and his wife, Kimberly Obenshain all of Brooksville, Fla.; granddaughter, Denise O. She was a former reading teacher in Buffalo, New York and in Richmond, Virginia. Mrs. Farinelli was a parishioner of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church and a member of the Merry Makers of Belmont.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Dawson Richman; his son, Perry Michael Richman and wife Jennifer of Mount Jackson; a sister, Audrey Nell Dellinger of Edinburg; two brothers, Kenneth Lee Richman of Edinburg and Carl Lee Richman, Jr. of Mount Jackson; and a grandson, Samuel Perry Richman.

of age 84 of Virginia Beach, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Mr. Maestes was born on December 30, 1921 in DelNort, Colorado to the late Solomon Maestas and Creselia Marquez. After beginning an illustrious football career with the University of Colorado, he joined and fought with the US Marine Corps in World War II in the Pacific Rim. Following the war, Mr. Maestas completed his football career with University Cincinnati and then earned his master’s degree in chemistry. He was also a Cum Lade graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He then moved to Virginia Beach where he co-founded, with his late wife Cecila A. Maestas, the Maestas Funeral Home in 1951 at the beachfront where he maintained a funeral home business for over 50 years until his retirement in 2002. Mr. Maestes was a member of the Tidewater Funeral Director’s Association and served as a past president from April 1970- April 1971. He was also an active member of the community both the local Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club in the city of Virginia Beach spanning five decades.
He is survived by one son, Paul B. Maestas, Jr. who resides in Hawaii; his beloved wife, Marshia Maestas, as well as his stepchildren; George Dagres and wife Joy; Kristina Dagres, Gregory Dagres and wife Dr. Joan Rose as well as two grandchildren; Chara and Jimmy Dagres all of Virginia Beach. He is survived by his siblings; Isabel Martinez from Lakewood, CA, Maria E. Ocana from Layton, UT and his brother, Ernest Maestas from Denver, CO.

71, of 336 Furnace Hill Road, Goshen, VA died Thursday, May 04, 2006 at his residence.
He was born on December 22, 1934, in Goshen, the son of the late Jesse and Ida Mae (Plott) Forbes. On July 30, 1960, he married his wife of nearly 46 years, Nancy (Lipscomb) Forbes, whom he leaves behind.
Mr. Forbes retired from the Burke, Parsons, Bowlby Corporation in Goshen after a number of years of service. He had also worked at the former Sand Plant in Goshen.
He attended Goshen Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed both hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Nancy of Goshen, he is survived by five children, Carolyn Sue Laughlin of Gladys, VA, Norma Jean Vanmeter of Quinwood, WV, Bessie Mae Ingram of Goshen, Ida Mae McAllister of Millboro, VA, and Robert George Reynolds, of Concord, VA (who is a funeral director affiliated with Henderson Funeral Home in Brookneal, VA and Heritage Funeral Service in Lynchburg, VA); eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, James B. Forbes of Covington, VA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Forbes; a sister, Virginia Bayne; and two brothers, Charles and Robert Forbes.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Goshen Baptist Church with the Reverend Scott Reese and the Reverend Claude Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Bratton’s Run Cemetery, Goshen.

Mr. Dean was a Veteran of Vietnam serving in the U. S.
Marine Corp., having retired as a Master Sergeant after
20 years of service. He had retired from Xerox
Corporation of Rochester, NY, General Electric and
Genicom. Family members include two sons and their spouses, Todd and Kelly Dean of Waynesboro and Richard and Wendy Dean of Smithfield; a daughter, Donna Dean and her husband, Keith Mantel, of Charlottesville; two sisters, Patricia Leftwich and Eugenie Dean, both of Laguna Hills, CA; and two grandchildren, Chad and Torey Dean, both of Waynesboro. She and Buck later became co-founders of Scott’s Funeral Home in Weber City, Virginia. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ingle L. “Buck” Easterling; grandson-in-law, Patrick Shupe; two sisters, Doris Bussell and Nancy Bussell; and three brothers, M.C. Lanham, Milburn Lanham and Carl Lanham. Mrs. Easterling is survived by her daughters, Rita Nickels and Anita Overbay and husband Paul, all of Kingsport; a son, Kenneth Easterling of Newburg, IN; four grandchildren, J.J. Holder and wife Traci, September Shupe, Gabriel Easterling, Kecia Prater and husband Gary; great-grandchildren, Bailey Shupe, Jayne Holder and Peyton Holder; three sisters, Nellie Easterling of Kingsport, Lorraine Bussell of Middlesboro, TN and Carolyn Wills of Knoxville; a brother , Bobby Lanham of Cincinnati; and several nieces and nephews.

that we must advise you of the death of age 81 of Warrenton, Virginia who died Friday, April 7, 2006 at the Fauquier Hospital.
Mr. Sutphin, born March 28, 1925m was the son of the late Murray Ryan Sutphin and Sophia Lee Hume Sutphin. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Welby and Leroy B. Sutphin.
Mr. Sutphin served in the US Army during World War II until his honorable discharge in 1946. After his time in the armed forces, he served his apprenticeship at the Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper, Virginia. In 1949 he graduated from the Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Nashville, TN, received his license as a funeral director and embalmer and returned to Clore's. He later worked at the former Sanford Funeral Home in Montross, Virginia, and the former Ives Funeral Home in Arlington. He then joined with Joseph Gawler's Sons Funeral Directors in Washington, DC where he worked for 23 years as a manager until his retirement in March 1990.
Upon retirement he moved home to Fauquier County to Warrenton where he was an active volunteer with the Rapphannock-Rapidan Community Services Board. With them he gave many hours of time as a driver for medical appointments and their nutrition program. He also served as a volunteer with Hospice of the Rapidan. He and his wife had been honored by The Fauquier Citizen newspaper in 2001 as “Five Who Made A Difference” for their community service. He was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church from 1963 until 2003 when he joined Warrenton United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann J. Sutphin.

Mr. Mahoney was a licensed funeral director and embalmer and an employee of the Joseph W. Bliley Company Inc. since October 1, 1964. He graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1967. Mr. Mahoney was member of the Atlee Community Church where in 2004 he went on a mission trip to New Jersey to do repair on houses for underprivileged. He was a member of the North Richmond and Mechanicsville Kiwanis Club for 20 years, a sponsor of the Atlee High School Key Club, and a former coach of the Mechanicsville Little League. He was also a part time bus driver for Hanover County Public Schools for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Timmons Mahoney; his children, Stephen F. Mahoney and wife, Kelly, Brian K. Armstrong and wife, Deborah, Kristy Cosley and husband, Jamie, and Jennifer M. English and husband, Scott; five grandchildren; aunt, Mary E. Mahoney; and special cousins, Audrey and Denny Walker.

was a son of the late Montague Mason and Susie Belle Wright
Nicholas. Upon graduating form Holy Cross Academy in 1942,
he attended Lynchburg College. He also attended Temple
University and graduated from Echols College of Mortuary
Science, where he was a recipient of the Dean’s Award. He
received his licensed in 1945. Mr. Nicholas was a loyal and
dedicated funeral director on the staff of Whitten Funeral
Homes, Inc. for more than forty eight years. He was a member
of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a member
of the Herman Stevens Bible Class. In 1984, Charles served
as the Chairman of the Deacon Board and in 1987 served as
Vice-Chairman of the Deacon Board. He was elected as Life
Deacon in May 1998. He was a charter member of the Madison
Heights Ruritan Club and served on the Amherst County
Electoral Board from March 1983 to April 2004. In addition
to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers,
Montague M. Nicholas, Jr., James S. Nicholas, William T.
Nicholas, Joe W. Nicholas and Harris Nicholas and two
sisters, Mazie N. Fitzgerald and Evelyn N. Woodson.
He is
survived by his wife, Wilmuth Hall Nicholas; a daughter,
Kimberly Sue Nicholas and her husband John of Richmond; two
sisters, Magdeline N. Morgan Dot N. Allen both of Madison
Heights and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30PM on March 16, 2006 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence.

She retired from the Food Services Department at Virginia Tech, was a charter member of the Golden Years Club and a member of the Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, W.S. belatedly advise you of the death of age 80, of Crystal Forest Lodge, 1404 Totten Drive, died Friday March 3, 2006.
He was born February 25, 1926 in Covington, to the late Robert Marshall Loving and Bernicie King Loving. He was a member of Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church and former Sunday School teacher. He was a pilot in the U. S. Army Air Corp. during WWII. He was an accomplished trumpeter, playing in area jazz bands in the l940’s and 1950’s and in the U.S. Army Air Corp. Band. He played Taps for the Covington Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars and for American Legion Post 4 functions. Mr. Loving graduated from The Cincinnati College of Embalming in 1949 and returned to work with his father at the Loving Funeral Home. In June, 1949 he became licensed as a Funeral Service Director and Embalmer. In 1963, he purchased Loving Funeral Home and operated the business until his retirement in 1987, at which time the family owned business was sold to his son, James Patton Loving, Jr.
Mr. Loving was a member of the Virginia Funeral Directors Assn, a former member of The Shenandoah Valley Funeral Directors Assn and served as President of The Blue Ridge Funeral Directors Assn 1965-1966. In 1999, he was honored as a Golden Licensee by the Virginia Funeral Directors Assn. He was a member of Covington Moose Lodge # 610 LOOM , Covington –Hot Springs Rotary Club, Covington-Alleghany County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League and an Honorary Member of the Falling Spring Fire and Rescue Squad.
He is survived by three sons; James Patton “Pat” Loving, Jr. and wife Lynda, Thomas Van Loving of Covington, Charles “Tim” Loving of Alachua, Florida; a sister, Bernicie “Tootie” Loving Gochenour of Iron Gate, a sister-in-law, Bettie Harter Loving of Covington; six grandchildren, Tamara Loving Elkins and her husband Tony of Richmond, James Patton Loving, III and his wife Jeannie of Charlottesville, Kelly Starr Loving of Roanoke and Stephanie Marie Loving and her fiancée, James Hubbard of Covington, Thomas Benjamin Loving of Covington and Heather Stacy Loving of Harrisonburg and her fiancée Bobby Carroll; two step-grandchildren Crystal Meadows and her husband Paul of Lynchburg and Michael Alan McKinny of Iron Gate; thirteen great grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren. Mr. Felts was preceded in death by his parents, Ryland (Bob) Felts and Hazel J. Felts and his brothers, Alfred D. and Wesley E. Felts. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janice Pleasants Felts, his daughters, Kathleen E. Felts and Laura A. Felts, all of Mechanicsville; a sister and four brothers, Barbara F. Graves of Aylett, Ryland Stanley Felts, Jr., of Highland Springs, Everette A. Felts of Sandston, Mitchell R. Felts of New Kent and Philip H. Felts of Quinton; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Felts was a life member of New Bridge Baptist Church in Sandston and retired after 38 years as a Funeral Director with Woody Funeral Homes, where he managed the Laburnum Chapel until his retirement. He was a member of the Mechanicsville Businessmen's Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 9808 in Mechanicsville, and Acca Shriners. He was a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Lee Jackson Camp, and the American Legion. He served with the U. S. Army in Vietnam in 1968, during the TET Offensive, during which he received the Purple Heart, Silver Star and Bronze Star.

Mr. Edwards was born on April 25, 1972 in Martinsville the son of Neal and Rose Edwards of Martinsville. Rose Edwards is the office Manager for Bassett Funeral Service in Bassett. Robert was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and an ordained minister. Robert had worked for Oakey’s Funeral Service in Roanoke and Bassett Funeral Service in Bassett and Norris Funeral Service in Martinsville.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Lisa Turner Edwards, one brother Kenneth Edwards of Martinsville and grandmother Margaret Kendrick of Martinsville, and two nieces and several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 17, 2006 from 6:00-9:00PM at Mountain View Baptist Church at 1164 Brentwood Drive, Collinsville and at other times at the home of his parents 2018 Figsboro Road, Martinsville.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Harrison, Rev. Stanley Waddell, Rev. Van Moore, Rev. Ray Moorefield, Rev. David Freeman and Paul Kennedy, Jr. officiating with burial in the Kendrick family cemetery.

She was born in Roanoke on January 11, 1927, daughter of the late Henry Gill and Rosa Helm Creasy. Mrs. Flora was an employee for the C&P Telephone Company for sixteen years after which she became a fulltime mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Gill Creasy; and her sister, Georgia Kirby.
Surviving are her husband Buford L. Flora; her children, Patricia Jeanene and Darrell Robertson of Roanoke, Michael Gill Lane, Lee Alan Flora, President and Manager of Flora Funeral Service, and wife Becky of Rocky Mount, Lynn Ray and Cindy Flora of Boones Mill, Pamela Sue and Mark Sweeney of Rocky Mount, Bobby Oteyof Boones Mill; eight grandchildren, Jay Karr, Joy Stevens, B. J. Stevens, Rebecca McNeely, Caitlyn and Brittany Flora, Janelle and Lillian Sweeney; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Karen, Harleigh, Nathaniel Lee, Elizabeth; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Kathy Creasy of Daleville; and sister-in-law, Bevoline Flora Evans of Spokane, WA.

death of age 64 of Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, who died Thursday, February 2, 2006 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He was born on March 5, 1941 in Mendota, Illinois to the late Arden and Faith Fitch Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Nancy S. Campbell. Mr. Campbell was an employee of Computer Sciences Raytheon, an avid bowler, an Eagle Scout, and was a member of Masonic Lodge 318 F/AM in Melbourne, Florida.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff Campbell, manager of Everly Funeral Home in Fairfax and Pete Campbell, Assistant Manager of Moody Funeral Home, and wife April of Stuart; daughter, Kristin Campbell of Mendota, Illinois; grandchildren, Samantha Campbell, Dylan Inman, Lindsey Inman, Courtney Campbell and Kylie Campbell; brother, Gary Campbell of Mendota, Illinois; sisters, Mary Bassing of Ottawa, Illinois, Jane Spenader and Martha Schmitt both of Mendota, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
