E-mail Distribution Policy

I.  Use of Association-wide Email Distribution Lists to Provide General Information

One of the services that VFDA provides its member is the timely provision of information by email.  Association-wide email messages must be of concern, interest, or benefit to either to the VFDA membership as a whole or to subgroups within the association (i.e. all member firms, non-resident, associate, non-resident associate, affiliate, honorary, retired and mortuary science intern, or any combination of the aforementioned) and may include communication of death notices, press releases and other information pertaining to the practice of the funeral profession. 

Association-wide email is only for official VFDA business only.  Any use of association-wide email for personal purposes is forbidden.  Use of association-wide email must comply with all applicable laws (including, but not limited to, laws prohibiting spamming, copyright infringement and defamation).

 II. Use of Association-wide Email Distribution Lists on Behalf of Vendor-Members

 From time to time VFDA will distribute to its members announcements from vendors who are also association members.  All announcements of goods and services on behalf of vendor-members should be sent to the President [Executive Committee] for approval prior to distribution.  All such announcements shall contain the following disclaimer:

 This email is provided by the VFDA as a convenience to its members.  Any views or opinions presented herein, however, are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of the VFDA.
